Barber with Cosmetology License (1000 Hours)

The program prepares the student with the information and techniques required to pass the Ohio Cosmetology and Barber Board licensure examination as a Licensed Barber.  The State of Ohio requires that the student have a cosmetology license.   Student will receive education and training to provide the services of a Licensed Barber. Students may complete the program in as little as nine months (6) months.

THEORETICAL STUDY

Theoretical study provides students with comprehensive instruction on the scientific fundamentals of barbering to help them develop an understanding of industry standards and practices.  Topics covered include:

  • Safety and Sanitation
  • Shaving
  • Secondary Services

PRACTICAL SKILLS

  • Men’s haircutting and shaving
  • Razor cutting
  • Scalp treatments

The program is rounded out by the study of barbering history.  The program is the foundation for a quality barbering education and students enjoy the experience of being immersed in the barbering atmosphere with like-minded peers. Also, one (1) hour of human trafficking education is included in the course (a requirement of the State Board).
